Blackbird Market buys, sells, and grows produce. It features goods from both the Blackbird Farms on Wadmalaw and in Hendersonville, N.C. — check with them when you want a bulk of tomatoes or cucumbers for a homesteading project. This spring, stop at their retail space on Bohicket Road to buy local products like Geechie Boy Grits, Rio Bertolini’s Pasta, fresh seafood, house-made pimento cheese, eggs, boiled peanuts, and grass-fed beef. And don’t forget lunch: their daily menus are posted on their Facebook page and filled with items like sandwiches, salads, pulled pork, and flounder plates. Blackbird is open 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Mon.-Sat. and Sun., 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
